Spiritual Mothers in Lay Evangelization (SMILE) seeks to nurture faith, evangelize, and bring healing to the culture. Rooted in a deep devotion to Mary and the Holy Spirit, participants embrace their call to imitate her womanly role in spreading the Gospel.
Embracing the Call to Spiritual Motherhood
In the Catholic tradition, spiritual motherhood is a unique and vital calling. While physical motherhood nurtures biological life, spiritual motherhood focuses on nurturing the supernatural life of grace in others. This includes prayer, sacrifice, healing, nurturing faith, and mentoring. It is a calling open to all women—whether married, single, or religious—modeled after the Virgin Mary's role in the Church.
